In
order to become CPIM certified you will need to pass 5 tests.
APICS offers these five courses to help you in passing the
tests.
The CPIM program consists of 5 courses.
The courses are held:
2 days a week, Tuesdays & Thursdays
Saturdays, all day until completed.
Evening classes are from 6-9 pm.
Saturday classes are from 8:30 to 4:30 pm.
The recommended course sequence:
Basics of Supply Chain Management class (10, 3 hour sessions),
Master Planning of Resources class (8, 3 hour sessions)
Detailed Scheduling and Planning (9, 3 hour sessions)
Execution & Control of Operations (9, 3 hour sessions)
Strategic Management of Resources (9, 3 hour sessions)
.
This order is recommended, but you don’t necessarily need to take them in that order. The
Basics should be first, as it sets the stage at an overview level for the more detailed classes
to follow. It is also highly recommended for ALL employees as a stand alone course to
understand the complete structure of any company.
SMR should be taken last – as that will be a summary of other 4 classes.
The other 3 can be taken in any order.
Class price is $495.00 (each) for a non-member, Member price is $440 (each).
If you are taking more than one class and planning on taking the exams, it pay for
itself to become a member.
To become a member you will need to fill out the membership form that is on the www.apics-west.org website, and either fax or e-mail to the Santa Clara Valley Chapter
office.
Our chapter membership dues for 1 year are $50. Headquarters dues are $150.00 a
year. Total membership will be $200.00 for the year. As a member you will receive
discounts on the classes of $55 per class. You also get a discount on tests of $50/ea.,
$110 for members, $160 for non-members.
At the conclusion of each class it is recommended you study for a period of time, and then
take the test, usually in 2 weeks – while it is still fresh in your mind.
Tests are scheduled through Promissor. You can set up an exam by going to www.pearsonvue.com. The test center is in Oakland, $150 for members, $160 for non-members.
The class fees cover your participant workbook only. Dictionaries are provided by
Headquarters to members. You will also need an Exam Content Manual, which you may
purchase directly through APICS or from our office, $24.
Most of our classes are held at the chapter office at 3150 De la Cruz Blvd, Suite 200 in Santa
Clara. We are in the Oxford Business Park on the corner of Trimble and De la Cruz Blvd.
We are in the two story building behind The Noodle shop and dry cleaners.
