Michael Kirchner
was a longtime dedicated APICS volunteer who was our chapter
President from 1991 until 1994. He remained actively involved
on our Board and in chapter activities up until just a few
months before losing his battle with a long illness in August,
2001. His family has generously donated his extensive library
of APICS and Quality publications to enhance our chapter library,
and the library has been renamed in his honor. When you visit
our office you will see a plaque on the library that reads
as follows:
On July 17, 2002, we name
this Library to honor Michael Kirchner's dedication to learning
and the advancement of APICS ideals, and his long tenure as
an active and dedicated volunteer for our chapter. Enhanced
by the donation of Michael's lifetime collection of APICS
and Quality publications, use of this library is offered to
our members to promote education and continuous improvement.

The
Santa Clara Valley Chapter Library was renamed in memory of
Michael Kirchner.
